Maintaining a Web Site is NOT Nothing. It is a major pain in the butt.

Even tracking down special character display problems is a major headache, even when you know what what to do.

But, Imagine if you were a major dumb-ass like Taka or Trig?

LOL - They would ONLY end up doing a Robin Williams!!!

None of these display problems existed at the time that these articles were originally uploaded. Nor, were any changes to my Web page templates at such a low-level. Yet, suddenly something as plain vanilla as the space characters is now showing up looking funny???

A few days ago my MAJOR & PROFESSIONALLY run Web Hosting service migrated my site to different Linux servers, among other things. However minor a change the new whatever for my site, it is now causing these display problems to suddenly appear.

Moi knows what the problem is. It is just that I have better thing to do than go over 400 different Web pages checking for these stupid errors.

Rather than go page by page and correct errors, I am going to try to change the following to something else in order to see if these display problems wont globally self correct.

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />

The problem is now the use of utf-8 rather than some other option, which my new Linux Server set up is now baulking on for whatever reason, however minor.

I just spent several days communicating with these people over another related issue. Changing utf-8 to something else will probably globally cure the these character display problems.

Silly me, here I thought that I had solved these types of display problems, years ago!!!

Where is my aspirin???

No such luck! I am already using the CORRECT encoding standard.

Ergo, I just submitted another support ticket with my PROFESSIONALLY MANAGED site hosting service.

Apparently, they are doing something that is over riding by CORRECT selection of the utf-8 encoding standard.

I swear, you can waste more time over absolutely nothing than anything else over all this W3C coding crap.

Hey, if I had selected utf-16 standarded everything would come out looking like Japanese!!!

Rather than go page by page and correct errors ...
It is time for Moi to do a major systematic review of his XHTML coding, site directory by directory, article by article.

Moi has already corrected the most glaring special character display problems.

FREE Wordpress Blogs are still using the XHTML 1.0 Transitional as the Document Type, just like Moi still is. Hint, hint, ... Hint!

Beyond the display problems of a few special characters, my task is to:

- Add Facebook meta tags to every page
- Upgrade the pictures to Facebook's minimum size specifications
- Increase the size of the Meta Description tag in many cases.
- Upgrade all Youtube coding to their HTML5 code
- Add a YouTube video for all pages currently without a video
- Drop all use of videos from NaturalNews.com

To Hell with W3C validation. The use of 3rd party coding from Google and others make such a task virtually impossible, anyway. My templates have already been validated, as far as I desire to make them.

The Hell with worrying about the mobile user. In the long term, Moi is thinking of converting over to a dynamic format, as opposed to his current static set up. Of course, such a move would be even more time consuming, as well as require major amounts of planning.

At the time being, Moi 'the Great One' has ruled out Joomla. Joomla is geared towards community development - LOL - NOT in my lifetime.

There is always Wordpress, but I simply do NOT want to constantly fight a Blog format.

Must be open source and be coded with PHP as well as offer both a classical Web site layout, and a mobile solution built into it or at least a theme.

My current hosting service offers 19 different software packages to consider.

Do NOT hold your breath. Moi does NOT have the time to convert over to a dynamic format, any time soon.

Moi came up with a new dynamite Meta Description for this article, which demonstrates a level of intelligence that the Science Imbeciles can ONLY dream of one day obtaining.

Gohde's Moi is just a bottom feeder on the new technologies while we are doing the real thing! This bottom dweller will never be able to configure any server at this shack and rely on the Govt controlled ISPs servers, LOL ...
