Glisodin side effects

Has anybody experienced any side effects or adverse reactions from
taking GliSODin (an oral supplement containing superoxide dismutase)?
According to the manufacturer Isocell the product has no acute or
chronic toxicity. However, they are very quiet about its potential
side effects (which is not exactly the same thing as toxicity). Most
alarming when I asked them, and some of their business partners, for
some information on the topic I got no response.

The only thing I have found on the internet are some reports
concerning a detoxification and skin treatment formula (that contains
Glisodin) which report headaches, skin trouble and flu like symptoms.
This detoxification programme, however, was also accompanied by
dieting which might explain some of the side effects reported.

I would appreciate if anyone wanted to share his experience or
thoughts.

Well GliSODin is pure gluten conjugated to SOD. Have you ever heard
of the celiac disease in which gluten (gliadin) is the offending
allergen? It's said that at least 1 in 100 people is sensitive to
this grain peptide which resembles the connective tissue structure.
After gliadin exposure the immune system destroys the enzyme tissue
transglutaminase and the body starts falling apart because ECM cannot
be hardened but you will get the leaky gut symptoms far before this.
So the caucasian/red head/Viking blood type O type people are at
highest risk and they had better sticking to the Paleo diet avoiding
grains completely. Another fu**ed up supplement from Japan ...

Yes, I am aware of the gluten issue and its potential complications.
However, consumption of gluten is hardly a specific problem of
supplementing with Glisodin. I was more interested in any particular
side effects or adverse reactions coming from supplementation with
exogenous SOD.

Expect compromised immunity. O2- mediates immune response to pathogens.
You might also disrupt other signaling in the body. Antioxidants can
interfere with the benfits of exercise and fasting.

So avoid antioxidants while exercising or fasting? I am a little
surprised that antioxidants would be bad for exercise. I thought that
they would provide some protection.

Oxidative stress is critical to health, and by itself triggers the
production of antioxidants in the body. Exercise naturally induces
oxidative stress and research has demonstrated that antioxidants taken
afterward negate the benefits of the exercise.

Exercise is healthy because it produces a hormetic response that relies
on ROS. Antioxidants break this signaling mechanism and negate the
benefits of exercise. Run a search on antioxidants and exercise.

Nice catch. I was wondering why GliSODin set off alarm bells when I saw
the name. Now I remember reading the ingredient list and recoiling in
horror. Adverse responses should overlap with Celiac symptoms.
